District Momba, is among the new district, was officially established in 2012 by the Government pursuant to section five (5) the rules of the Local Government (District Authorities), frame number 287 RE 2012 as well as other laws dealing with the establishment of the district includes the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania and the law for the establishment of regional and district chapter number 397 of 2012, after dividing the Mbozi district with the aim of facilitating access to services for residents of the district to apply for a declaration of government (GN) No. 73 of 2012 Momba district was declared the official establishment with 18 other districts, an official document of the establishment of district Momba and commencement was released on 23.12.2012.
District Momba composed of council two council districts to apply to the council of the City of Tunduma, which together contain divisions 4, the district council to apply if and divisions 3 and one state election and the council district of the town of Tunduma if and divisions 1 and one electoral constituency.
